Today’s cycling destination was Mine Park at the foot of Mt. Akagi. I heard that iris flowers are blooming there too.
By the way, did you know that Mt. Akagi has the second longest skirt (base) in Japan? The longest, of course, is Mt. Fuji.
For this ride, after about 10 minutes from leaving home, I hit a steady incline of around 1.5% to 2.0% for about 8 kilometers. The final 2 kilometers were a tougher climbing section with a 5.0% to 8.0% gradient.
The total elevation gain was around 350 meters, which is about half of what you'd climb to Ikaho Onsen. Maybe that’s why I managed to make it to the top without giving up! 😮💨
Now, as for the iris flowers…
…
…
Where on earth were they!?
Did I get fooled again?
In the end, I couldn’t find them anywhere.
I didn't want to just head home empty-handed, so I stopped by the nearby roadside station, "Green Flower Bokujo," and checked in to get my digital stamp on the app. ☺️
There was a massive windmill there (well, a bit too big to just call it a "shed"), so I snapped a quick photo with my beloved bike. 📸
I found out later that this place is actually a holy grail for the anime Maebashi Witches! 😂
