I just received two legendary masterpieces from a senior colleague who’s retiring: the Nikon "F" and the "F3P"❗️
Could I be any luckier? 😊
Both are in incredibly beautiful condition and work perfectly. While some degradation of the light seals is inevitable due to their age, the F3P’s battery compartment was pristine—even though batteries had been left inside, there was no leakage. I popped in new batteries, and the Auto Exposure (AE) is functioning exactly as it should.
I was like, "Wait, are you seriously giving these to me!?"
He just said, "I received them from someone else originally, and my kids aren't interested. I don't use them anymore, so if you love film cameras that much, they're yours." Truly a godsend!
The F3P's exterior is so clean that I just had to blow away some old light seal dust. The Nikon F had quite a bit of dust on it, but after a gentle wipe-down with anhydrous ethanol, it’s regained its vintage luster.
The lenses are also surprisingly clean—no mold, of course, and hardly any dust inside.
I’ve got the "F" loaded with film and I'm taking it out for a spin today! 😊
