It’s not just because I’m in Gunma, but since this year was so pleasant up until June, 37°C really takes it out of you.
Even so, I went out for my first photo-ride since the beginning of the month! 🚵
I thought about heading north to find some cooler air, but then I realized—unless I went all the way to the top of Mt. Akagi, being just 300 meters above sea level wouldn't be much different from the lowlands. In fact, the climb up there would probably just make me overheat. So, I chose a flat route instead... but man, it was hot. My legs almost cramped up.
For my destinations, I did a "Michi-no-Eki" roadside station hop, starting at Tamamura-juku and heading over to Lalan Fujioka. Covering 40 km today left me pretty wiped out in this heat.
Summer is just getting started—how am I going to survive the rest of it?
Okiku-Inari Shrine. I wonder how many torii gates are here. Word has it that people still dedicate them today when their wishes come true.
